Dec.30

Hey! How was your Christmas? Mine was wonderful! And now it's coooooooooooold! R.I.P. Artie Shaw and Jerry Orbach.  We're on hiatus from the Thursday night jams at Station 52 so I'm sitting at home drinking eggnog-with no friggin' nutmeg- and blogging. I bought myself a dandy little Mesa Boogie .50 Caliber amp today and I can't wait to try it out. And the orgy of Xmas consumerism continues...Should be a link to the new T&C Hotel site on the links page- have you looked? And there should be more than a blank page on their site when you click on "entertainment". Well, you'd think so, anyway. Guess it's time I bugged the all-powerful grand poohbah of the web, Lonnie for a pics page I can actually add pictures to. Hmm, Spellcheck doesn't recognize poohbah...

MERRY HUMBUG!!!!

Dec. 21

Big news! Christmas isn't cancelled after all! Uncle Ralphie bullied the insurance companies into adjusting our rates and I'm getting back THIRTEEN DOLLARS AND THIRTY NINE CENTS!!!!! YIPPEE!!!! God bless us everyone!

Dec. 19

Holy cow, has it been 11 days already? I guess I'm hitting that slacking off point. Well, at least I know there's ONE person reading this.                  Well, first of all, to catch up, my heartfelt thanks to Tim Herman for getting me the gig in the Lava Lounge in Medicine Hat. Cool gig, what's with the upholstered barges? And while I'm at it, a big thanks to my mom for giving me a royal ass-kicking at yahtzee the same weekend. I sobbed all the way home.

Just did the final gig before Xmas at Woody's in Castleridge, a big thanks to the manager for making us feel as welcome as intestinal polyps. Ryan Herzog played like King Kong, almost made up for his jokes. Hey, it's my website, not Mother Theresa's.

Hey, you should see the awesome *T&^$^@!#$%T&$^ I got Rhonda for Xmas! They'll go great with the *&@X%$^!!! I already picked out!

Dec. 8

Well, it was a good week all around last week as both the St.52 jam on Thursday and the T&C jam on Sunday were a blast! Thanks to everyone who showed up to support us and get in on the fun. Also, my thanks to Deiter and everyone at Westcreek Pub in Chestermere for putting up with me on Friday night.

Monday was Ric Tough's birthday, think it's time to get him a walker. Tuesday was Geoff Hogg's birthday, time to top up his embalming fluid. I think Rose's b-day is next. I think I'll just pick on people until I get hate mail, then I'll know who is reading this.

What the Hell am I gonna get Rhon for X-mas? Or anyone else, for that matter?

Nov. 29

Thanks to Sandy and Trudy Lambert for coming out to the T&C jam last night, as well as Doc Rock and everyone else. We had a gas! Hope they fix the heat in the Redneck.

I must point out here that Kate Lewis has displayed more professionalism after a whole month of getting paid to make music than a lot of people who have been in the business twenty or thirty years. Kudos, Kate.

This Friday I'm in the Westcreek Pub in Chestermere. Where are you?

Nov.21

Ok, the new text will now be at the top so you don't have to scroll down to get to it. Good idea, Kate.

Well, I finally had a jam at the T&C that didn't involve me running around screaming at my obstinate gear! I had a blast! Thanks to everyone who showed up and took part. Hope the DJ didn't deafen you. Sure like my new subs now that they work. And Geoff Hogg brought a lighting contraption akin to a piece of Jacques Cousteau's gear. Looked really cool.                 Sidewinder played at Stavros in Ranchlands this weekend. We all had fun. Come see us play the Strathmore Hotel this weekend!

Nov.18

This just in! Sidewinder will be playing Donadeos Pub in Forest Lawn for New Year's Eve! Stay tuned for more details.

Went to the Gov't Mule show last night at Macewan Hall. It was great! Got a cool tie-dyed shirt!

Nov. 14

Well, that worked! She had no idea we were getting a cake. Had a blast in the Hat, played with all kinds of people. Thanks to Tim and Mike of "Luke and the Skywackers" for getting me up to play.

Tonight's the second jam at the T&C and I have my new subs and power amp. Hope they work on the first try! Come on out!

Nov. 12

Pssst! We're getting a cake for Mom's birthday tonight! Don't tell her!

Nov. 9

Well, that went pretty good! The jam, that is. We had fun, even though my P.A. drove me up the wall. Had lots of gremlins. I want to thank everyone who popped in, including Doug, Gene, Coz, Mike, Peter- nice sax!, Don, and Marge! If I missed anyone, well, you better show up again!

Gonna be in Medicine Hat at the Sidestreet Pub this Friday. Are ya coming?

Nov. 7

Tonight is the first jam at the T&C, featuring Alida Schedel on drums and Keith Dalrymple on bass. Are ya comin'?

Nov.1

Hi! The first news item is: Lonny completely rebuilt the site! Atta boy, Big Long! Now go back to being the greatest unknown blues guitarist.

Next, did ya hear? Kate Lewis and I are starting a new jam on Sunday nights in the T&C starting this coming Sunday, Nov.7! We start at 8 PM with Alida on drums and Keith Dalrymple on bass. I have purchased brand new 18" bass bins, so bring toilet paper, I'm gonna rupture your spleens.

The REALLY good news is that Alida's drums have been found! Gene's son discovered them in the back of some pawn shop downtown. Nice to see such a turn of good luck for her, she really deserves it.

Stay tuned!
